Melee House is a melee diamond manufacturer in Surat, India. We cut and polish, sieve, grade and pack natural and lab-grown melee in our own workshop and sell it straight to the trade — no brokers or traders in between.

3. Natural vs lab-grown, and how we keep them apart

Both are real diamond (carbon) with the same look and hardness. Natural is mined and costs more; lab-grown is grown in a controlled environment and costs less for the same size and grade. We cut, store and pack them separately, label every product by origin, and never mix them.

Natural melee is screened with diamond verification equipment before it is listed and again before it ships.

4. Grades, sizes and packs

• Colour bands: DEF, GH, HIJ, IJKL.
• Clarity bands: VVS–VS1, VS1–VS2, SI1–SI2, SI2–SI3, SI3–I1, I1–I2.
• Sizing: each parcel is sieved to its listed millimetre size, tolerance ±0.1 mm. Weights per stone are approximate and depend on cut proportions.
• Consistency: parcels are sorted so a reorder matches what you set before.
• Packs: one size, one colour, one clarity — never mixed.
• Mixed sieve: available as a separate product (e.g. 0.90–1.25 mm) for buyers who sort themselves.

5. How to order

1. Choose natural or lab-grown.
2. Choose colour family — white, salt and pepper, black or fancy colour.
3. Choose the shape.
4. Choose the size in mm to match your setting (see the size chart below).
5. Choose colour and clarity.
6. Choose "Per stone" (any quantity from 1), "Per carat", or a ready pack.

6. Certificates

Most melee is traded without paperwork, which keeps it affordable. When you or your client want proof, add a grading certificate: an independent gem laboratory checks the stones and seals them in a numbered parcel. $20 per carat, $20 minimum.

The certificate shows a unique report number with QR code, shape and cut, total weight, colour grade or range, clarity grade or range, natural or lab-grown identification, and stone count. Stones arrive in a sealed packet with hologram security stickers, with grade, piece count and weight written on the front to match the certificate. 7. Sourcing and disclosure

• Kimberley Process: natural rough is bought through legitimate trade channels that follow the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.
• RJC member: Melee House is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, covering ethics, human rights, labour conditions and environment.
• Lab-grown: always sold and invoiced as lab-grown.
• Treatments: white melee is untreated. Fancy blue, yellow, green, pink and black diamonds are natural diamonds with enhanced colour, stated on every product page.
• Customs: we declare the true value of every shipment and never mark parcels as gifts.

8. Policies in full

8.1 Shipping

• Ships worldwide from Surat, India. Prices and shipping in US dollars.
• Standard insured: $50, about 5–8 business days after dispatch.
• Express insured: $150, about 1–2 business days after dispatch.
• Dispatched within 1–3 business days after payment clears; wire transfers ship after funds arrive; certificate orders take longer. No dispatch on weekends or Indian public holidays.
• Carriers: FedEx, UPS, DHL, Aramex or a specialist valuables courier.
• Adult signature required; parcels are never left unattended. The address cannot be changed after dispatch.
• Import duties, taxes, VAT/GST and broker fees are paid by the buyer.
• Not shipped to: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Jamaica, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or sanctioned regions.
• Lost parcels: insurance claim filed with the carrier (usually 2–4 weeks), then replacement or full refund. Report "delivered but not received" within 24 hours; refuse any parcel that looks opened.

8.2 Returns

• Request within 7 calendar days of delivery (carrier's delivery date) by emailing info@meleehouse.com. Do not send anything before approval.
• Returnable: unopened parcels with the tamper-evident seal intact in original packaging; single stones unused, unset and in original stone paper or box; all paperwork including certificate and invoice.
• Final sale: opened, resealed, counted or partially used parcels; lots sorted or matched to your specification; custom-cut, recut or special-order stones; set or altered stones; certificate fees and shipping charges.
• Inspection: seal, count and weight are checked and stones are screened; mismatches are refused and returned at the buyer's expense.
• Return shipping and insurance are paid by the customer unless the error is ours.
• Refunds go to the original payment method; banks usually post them in 2–10 business days. Shipping, certificate fees, duties and taxes are not refundable.
• Damaged, wrong or short parcels: email within 48 hours of delivery with photos or video.
• Cancellations: full refund any time before shipping. Unpaid orders (e.g. pending wire) cancel after 2 business days.
